Failure Notice, Vienna

Posted by Paul 06-09-2007

We are showing ‘Amplification Device’ and ‘Language Machine’ in ‘Failure Notice’, part of the ‘Intopos’ project in Vienna.

The works presented in Failure Notice by three emerging London artists, explore the processes of exchange, our dependence on its success and the consequences following miscommunication. Whether in our emotional lives or daily routines, communication becomes a normality too often ignored and underestimated. Failure Notice investigates how communication, whether technological, personal or physical, can never be perfect, and deals with the inherent failures that occur in the gaps between international correspondence and our physical presence.

opening: 25th September
exhibition: 26th September-7th October 2007
location: Bauernmarkt 9, 1010 Vienna, Austria
Artists: allsopp & weir, Blue Curry, Oriana Fox

SOME TIME REPEATING AN EMBARRASSED WORD

Posted by Paul 18-04-2007

Studio 1.1 Gallery presents allsopp&weir’s first solo exhibition in London. The exhibition includes new video, sound and performance work, shown together for the first time. From the ruins of language, the artists present inadequate means: fragments, allusions and strivings, which are impelled to absurd speeds and thresholds through a logic of repetitive cruelty.
